Your blend, volume and timer are saved the moment you change them. If you haven't used Slumbr for 8 hours or more, opening it starts your saved mix. A quick look in the morning doesn't.
Play through the iPhone speaker or a wireless speaker. The output button at the top shows where the sound is going and lets you change it.
